I just saw a post from a 'micro-nit", and in it he said he had KK. After
the flop he said he bet what he bet because, 'there was a flush draw", or
"to get the flush draws out", or some shit like that.
This is another one of those deals that might be difficult to put in
writing , but I am bored, the dog woke me up, and needless to say , I have
nothing else to do.
For 30 years , I have listened to people make this type of statement, when
discussing hands, and what to do with them.
"I BET CUZ OF THE FLUSH DRAW", OR "I BET TO GET THE FLUSH DRAWS OUT"
Now that might be an interesting thought "in theory", but it just plain
doesnt hold any water or make any sense!!!
Like some idiot put 3 bets in before the flop with the 8-4 diamonds, flops
an 8 hi flush draw, and just because you bet , right on the flop, he is
going to fold ??????
FUCKING NEVER!!! NOT ONCE .. EVER IN HISTORY.
yes , I understand that you dont want to look at a board with 4 to a suit
, or 4 to a str8 on it, but this business of saying "I bet the flop
because of the flush draws", is just plain ridiculous.
People say it all the time , but I dont think they know what they are
saying , or how it relates to the hand they are discussing.
And before the "uber-geeks " point it out to me .. yes I understand the
concept of "CHARGING" the flush draws, and the str8 draws, but that isnt
what people mean when they say , "I bet to get the flush draws out "
If one has a big hand , they would be far better off , not betting on the
flop, in most cases, waiting to see what comes off , and then making their
decision , as the where they are in the hand. At this point one could try
to "get the flush draws out". But one thing is for sure!!
AINT NO ONE DUMPING A FLUSH DRAW, ON THE FLOP, BECAUSE SOME OTHER MORON
BET TO "get out the flush draws"
Aint no pimple faced , Phil Helmuth wanna be, dressed in a Cub Scout
uniform , ever going to say . " I put 30% of my stack in preflop, and he
bet when I flopped a flush draw.. so I am going to fold""
NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN .. NOT ONCE.
And forget the concept that they might have flopped a flush draw that is
absolutely no good if they make it !!
In summation :
98% of the people that say this have no idea why they are saying it, and
how it actually relates to certain hands, and how very seldom it is
actually a consideration
